Speedy Signs Rotorua Celebrate Success at Industry Awards

Accepting AwardCompany’s award sign of a job well done

Owners of Speedy Signs Rotorua are celebrating after winning their 5th award from the signage industry’s annual premiere event. Co-owners Richard Haigh and Darren Burborough entered a project for Rotorua District Council into the New Zealand Sign and Display Association’s (NZSDA) annual event, and were recognised for their excellent work for the fifth year running.

This event acknowledges outstanding work from the industry’s best, and has become a highlight in the sign industry’s calendar. Winning a bronze award in the way-finding category highlights Speedy Signs Rotorua’s commitment to produce high quality signage. The entry, entitled ‘Street History’, is a collection of directional signs situated around the heart of Rotorua that display historic information and stories about the area.

Naturally, Speedy Signs Rotorua are proud to be recognised for their work. “Our team works incredibly hard to exceed our client’s expectations and deliver the best branding solutions possible. We have a close working relationship with our clients as they entrust us with their most valuable asset; their brand. We believe this is a key driver for the ongoing success of our business” says Mr Haigh.

The event, now in its 19th year, was created to encourage and promote high standards of design and execution in all aspects of sign making and attain excellence in production. These industry awards recognize the highest signage standard from within the industry.

NZSDA say that New Zealand sign makers are truly of a global standard as proven by this year’s winners. They explain that from the more traditional aspects of the industry such as brush lettering, gilding, and airbrushing, through to the modern techniques that computerisation has brought to the craft, it is fair to say that New Zealand is blessed with some of the best, most creative, and most innovative craftsmen in the world. Since initiation, the awards programme has recognized over 1,000 excellent signs and displays.

Developing technology extends the creative scope for sign-writers, allowing greater innovation in signage solutions. Cutting-edge technology allows signs to be produced on new mediums, truly bringing a client’s brand to life.

“Being part of the Speedy Signs franchise allows us to focus on building our business and not get caught up in the fine details of running a business day-to-day,” says Mr Burborough. “We have a great team working with us and we’ve got them to thank.”

Over the years a number of Speedy Signs stores have received awards and have been recognised for their quality workmanship, reflecting the group’s commitment to provide quality service and products for their clients.

With 23 locations nationwide, Speedy Signs is a business model that lends itself to the ideal entrepreneur with incredible growth potential.
